We believe wealth is more than numbers—it’s responsibility.

Founded by Drew Alders, Principatus Wealth serves successful real estate investors who want more than just investment advice—they want alignment.

With a background rooted in both faith and finance, Drew created a firm that helps clients steward what they’ve built with wisdom and purpose. From coordinating tax strategy to legacy planning, our goal is simple: to help you manage your wealth in a way that reflects your values and endures for generations.

Meet Drew

Drew Alders is a seventh-generation Texan who grew up in East Texas on his family’s chicken farm, cattle ranch, and timber operation—where he learned firsthand the value of hard work, stewardship, and the realities of running a small business.

Before founding Principatus Wealth, Drew spent eight years at Equitable Advisors helping clients simplify the complexity of personal finance and make confident, purpose-driven decisions about their wealth.

Drawing on his family’s experience in timberland investing and his background in real estate finance from Texas A&M University, Drew recognized a gap in financial planning for clients with directly held real estate. That insight inspired him to build a firm designed specifically for real estate investors—offering comprehensive, coordinated planning that integrates investments, real estate, tax, and legacy strategies.

At Principatus Wealth, Drew helps clients build anti-fragile financial plans—strategies that can adapt, endure, and grow stronger through life’s changes—so their wealth supports not only their goals but also the generations that follow.

Drew believes in being a life-long learner particularly through reading and asking questions. Along the way he has also earned:

  • Undergratuate degree from Texas A&M University

  • Masters in Commercial Real Estate from Texas A&M University

  • CFP® certification

In addition to his work at Principatus Wealth Drew is blessed to be husband to Taylor, and daddy to four kiddos: Joseph, Levi, Sophie, and Selah. Together they work hard and play hard soaking in the life they’re building in South Austin.

Drew also serves in his church as Deacon and Treasurer.

Our Name

Principatus” is a Latin word (pronounced: prin-seh-pah-toos).

It means “first place” and refers to the right ordering of things in our lives.

Life requires the right ordering of things. The first loves. That which is of preeminent importance. The big rocks. (A reference to the this method of prioritizing that Drew and his wife use throughout their lives).

In life, Drew believes that God is at the center (or first place) and everything stems from that acknowledgement: family, work, church.

In a financial plan, this holds true as well. Every shift in the plan ultimately comes back to how it aligns with our goals—does it advance or hinder the things that are first place in your life?

Principatus Wealth is named with this in mind.

Growing up, Drew’s parents ran a rental property business that they had also named “Principatus Properties” for similar reasons.

Naming his firm Principatus Wealth is a hat tip of gratitude to them and their example.
